JobFit

JobFit is a vocational training framework designed to enhance learners career opportunities and employment skills, while supporting employers to address skills shortages across Edinburgh and the South East Scotland City Regional Deal area.

JobFit will support job seekers into jobs within growing sectors and those sectors that are (or are expected to) face skills shortages. We partnered with experienced training providers to offer vocational training both for entry-level jobs and higher-level ones.

The entry-level courses (Standard) are designed in collaboration with employers to offer participants essential qualifications and industry-recognised certificates and to provide a strong understanding of key areas within specific sector (typically 1 – 4 weeks duration). They cover the following areas:

  • Hospitality
  • Retail
  • Health and Social Care
  • Early Learning and Childcare
  • Construction
  • Warehouse and Logistics
  • IT and Creative Industries
  • Business and Finance

Higher-level courses (Advanced) provide a more in-depth understanding of the sector, focusing on specific professional qualifications to support career development and progression. The course duration can be up to 16 weeks. They cover the following areas:

  • Advanced Health and Social Care
  • Manufacturing, Engineering and Robotics
  • Artificial Intelligence, Data Skills and Technology
  • Construction – including Net Zero and Retrofit
  • Land and Rural Skills
  • Tourism, Hospitality and Culture
