Volunteering opportunity: 2027 Tour de France ‘Grand Départ’ Event

Brief Summary: In July next year, the world's greatest bike race comes to Scotland for the first time as the peloton begins an epic weekend of racing, with Stage 1 from Edinburgh to Carlisle (184km). Get involved by volunteering which could lead to an employability programme in September 2027.

Harnessing the unique upskilling potential of a mega-event, the volunteering team will embed work experience and skills development into the delivery of the 2027 Grand Départ by working collaboratively across sectors with a joint ambition of supporting young people to enter the workforce.

Grand Départ’s Readiness to Work programme is open to 18-25 year old volunteers, keen to build up their skills and network through training and career-sector mentoring.

Apply to be a volunteer now and select the Readiness to Work programme here for your chance to be involved. Applications close on 1 September.
