These UK Shared Prosperity Fund projects are under the Supporting Local Business theme.
This theme supports local businesses in Edinburgh to thrive, innovate and grow.
Additional services to the baseline Business Gateway offering are increasing the numbers of high-value start-up businesses, increasing start-up numbers from previously underrepresented demographics and supporting first-time exporters to enter new markets.
The CodeBase GreenTech programme consists of an educational accelerator programme and a cohort community encouraging peer learning and mutual support. The programme is for those in the GreenTech sector who want to learn about startup thinking, innovation and digital product development. It is for potential entrepreneurs with early-stage ideas and existing incumbents who want to apply tech startup thinking to their organisations.
Net Zero Edinburgh supports small and medium enterprises to make a just transition to net zero. They are achieving this through the delivery of a five-step programme, supported by events, toolkits and knowledge sharing.
The BCorp 500 initiative is raising awareness and understanding of B Corp certification pathways and engaging with businesses on the benefits of becoming a B Corp. The project also offers mentoring and support to companies who want to move forward with the B Corp accreditation.
Resident Rewards engages City of Edinburgh residents in their city’s cultural offer, fostering civic pride and developing local business through the promotion of the visitor economy. Forever Edinburgh will continue to work with city-wide tourism partners to maintain the Resident Rewards Edinburgh programme including one-off discounts and year-round rewards for people to enjoy. The grant also supports the development of material to increase the inclusivity of Forever Edinburgh's outreach.
