Brief Summary: The theme of world suicide prevention day - 10th September 2026 - is ‘Change the Narrative on Suicide’ which aims to inspire individuals, communities, organisations, and governments to engage in open and honest discussions about suicide and suicidal behaviour.

Start Date: 08/09/2026

This is a free event

Location: Online

This session will focus on:

·                 the role of employability as a prevention/ early intervention approach to improving mental health and reducing the risk of suicide

·                 the role of employability support in helping someone with poor mental health or suicidal thoughts including how to spot the signs that someone may be thinking about suicide

·                 ask directly about suicide and signpost to support and postvention

·                 what to do after you’ve spoken to someone about suicide and

·                 where to get support when someone does die by suicide.

Building on the previous mental health workshop with employability partners, this session will help people working across employability support to understand the contribution they can make to supporting mental health and creating suicide safer communities and provide connection to existing resources and sources of support.
