Chances: Gambling Harms Upskilling

Location: Online via Microsoft Teams

Chances is a service within Cyrenians that provides support to those impacted by their or someone else’s gambling. Join our team in this interactive session to develop your skills. The training is aimed at professionals working in the third sector, public sector and NHS Scotland based in Edinburgh, The Borders, Falkirk and/or The Lothians.

We are also able to offer sessions aimed at different groups. Furthermore, if you feel your organisation would benefit from a tailored session or in person training, please contact chances@cyrenians.scot for more information.

The training covers:

  • What is gambling and its different forms
  • The current gambling landscape in Scotland
  • How to recognise harmful gambling and at-risk groups
  • Psychology of gambling and advertising
  • Value of lived experience
  • Asking and talking about gambling
  • How gambling relates to services and support delivery
  • Services offered by Chances and other support providers
