I have attached the job descriptions and person specs (one admin file is missing due to platform capacity) but generally, interested applicants must have a good command of the English language with good verbal and written communication skills, follow verbal and written procedures, be organised and be be able to manage numerous tasks simultaneously, be detail orientated, be proficient in Microsoft packages, open to building new skills and knowledge, be punctual, work as a team and be able to work flexibly.

When it comes to the Laboratory Assistant role in addition to the above the employee will be working in a lab, potentially handling blood samples, in what can sometimes be a colder working environment (PPE will be provided). They are also required to have good hand eye coordination, have the ability to perform repetitive tasks that could involve standing for long periods and adhere to safety standards and manual handling risks.

This is a great opportunity for parents living in Edinburgh, furthest away from the labour market who are looking to get back into work or change job roles. There is flexibility to job share if the hours are not suitable and to work a hybrid model for some of the administrative roles.

Please email barry.mcguigan@edinburgh.gov.uk if you believe you have a client who is a parent, that is suitable, capable of the work and meets the essential criteria for their desirable post.

We will then take their details, what role the wish, what location they want to work and what hours they can work. They will be sent a link to apply through Job Train when the NHS staff are ready. There may be open sessions to support applicants through the application process as this can be complicated.
