Digital Inclusion Worker

Brief Summary: Space is looking for a friendly, patient and motivated Digital Inclusion Worker to join our Community Learning and Development team, 9 hours per week.

Salary: 28,130 pro rata

Our digital inclusion project supports people across South West Edinburgh to build the confidence and skills to thrive in a digital world. Our aim is to help people realise their potential through learning, connection, removing barriers and opening the door to opportunities.  

You don’t need to be a digital guru to carry out this role. A good basic knowledge of how to use digital devices, and confidence with using common applications and online tools is important, but your ability to connect with and support learners is the key skill.   

The Digital Inclusion Worker will provide face to face digital support via group and 1:1 sessions, delivered within The Broomhouse Hub, working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. You will build positive connections with learners in order to develop their practical digital abilities with the aim of increasing their independence and improving their wellbeing and quality of life.   

No two days will be the same; In this role you will be helping people to carry out a variety of digital tasks including using a smartphone/tablet/laptop, searching and applying for jobs, locating services and downloading/using apps to support daily life and save money.  

*Hours will be mostly on Wednesday with the group drop-in sessions running on a Wednesday afternoon. With flexibility for 2-3hrs per week to be worked on a different day.
