Brief Summary: We are pleased to share the launch of the new IRES website, bringing together our vision, priorities and the next phase of delivery for the region’s employability and skills system - https://ires.org.uk/.
Alongside this, we have published the IRES 2027+ proposal, an ambitious, evidence-led plan co-produced with over 180 partners across the region. The next phase of IRES will build on this success to strengthen pathways into higher-skilled, better-paid work.
Together, this will create a more joined-up, responsive and future-ready skills system, supporting people to progress, employers to grow, and the regional economy to thrive. Designed to complement, not duplicate, existing provision, IRES 2027+ will strengthen and embed these pathways, particularly supporting those experiencing in work poverty to progress into higher-skilled, better-paid employment.
The IRES 2027+ Pledge was formally launched by the Joint Committee on 6th March, and we are now inviting partners across the region to join them in supporting this shared ambition by signing the pledge.
